Summary
Artist Donald Baechler shows slides of his work beginning with student work, progressing to later collage/paintings and finally sculpture, commenting on his process and working methods and denying any attempt at creating a narrative with his art. The lecture generates many questions, and eventually evolves into a lively and energetic discussion about the ethics and aesthetics of appropriation when the speaker reveals that he likes to purchase naive drawings of objects he has requested from prisoners, juvenile delinquents and drug addicts which he then incorporates into the collaged background of his works
